 narrator: lemon cakes was a duckling with soft yellow feathers, a green wing, and the wobbliest green-and-yellow hat you’ve ever seen. she had curious eyes, pitter-patter feet, and a heart full of adventure.

narrator: today, lemon cakes had decided something big: she was going to cross the pond — all by herself.

lemon cakes: “i’m ready to do this!”

narrator: after the big paddle and the splashy pond path, she finally saw it — her soft landing. a nest of feathers and leaves, shaped just like home. just the right size. just the right smell. just… right.
